Job Title: Civil Engineer

 

Job Description:  Perform engineering duties in planning and designing construction and maintenance of retaining walls for commercial and residential structures, including selecting the retaining wall location, determining height and geometry, evaluating structural requirements, and calculating the total wall structure. Conduct geo-failure analysis to investigate and mitigate geo-failures and implement measures to prevent recurrence.  Assess construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during the planning and risk-analysis stages. Oversee surveying operations to establish building locations, site layouts, reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Geodetic Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in planning and designing construction and maintenance of retaining structures for commercial and residential purposes, including:  Assessing construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during the planning and risk-analysis stages; Determining retaining structure’s height and geometry, evaluating structural requirements, and calculating the total wall structure; Evaluating soil or rock to determine geotechnical parameters for design; Checking and analyzing global stability and soil parameters; Coordinating grading design requirements with preliminary layout; Conducting geo-failure analysis to investigate and mitigate geo-failures and implement measures to prevent recurrence; and Overseeing surveying operations to establish building locations, site layouts, reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.

40 hours per week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., M-F
